Changes to paying HMRC
As of 15th December 2017 there have been changes to paying HMRC. Changes affect Post Office payments and by Credit Card.
Post Office
Changes to paying HMRC mainly affect the Post Office. As of 15th December you can no longer make a payment at the Post Office. Another payment method will instead have to be chosen.
Credit Card
January 13th sees the end to personal Credit Card payments. You will have to pay via Debit Card or Corporate Credit Cards as an alternative.
What HMRC Recommend
HMRC are recommending the use of Direct Debit, online payments or telephone banking. This will include Faster Payments, BACS and CHAPS. HMRC say these payments are more secure and save time and expenses.
