£1k Job Retention Bonus
Through the pandemic the Government have assisted Employers by offering the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), this has been massively used by Businesses across the Country. Just within our Practice alone, our Payroll Department have claimed for over 480 employees, this equates to a total amount of £1,549,709.89 claimed to date!
Unfortunately the scheme will be closed on the 31 October 2020 but there will be a further amount available for those businesses that have used the CJRS. The Government have named this ‘The Job Retention Bonus’.
The one-off payment of £1,000 per employee, will be awarded to businesses who previously claimed through the CJRS and still employee the individual continuously through to 31 January 2021.
Claims for the bonus will start from February 2021, the Government intends to publish further information by the end of September. In the meantime, the link below outlines the scheme.

The Government introduced the SEISS as a grant, not a loan, so this wasn’t something that would be repayable BUT if an individual was not entitled to receive the grant, they are then expected to notify HMRC and make a repayment.
