Marriage allowance allows you to transfer 10% of your personal allowance (£1,100) to your husband/wife/civil partner. This can reduce their tax by up to £220 in the tax year. (6 April – 5 April the next year)
To benefit as a couple, you will need to earn less than your partner and have an income of £11,000 or less. If you were eligible for the Marriage Allowance from 2015 to 2016 tax year, you can backdate your claim to 6 April 2015.

It was t-shirts and trainers for The Van Yard last weekend as staff, customers, friends and our very own Martin Swain came together for the company’s “doing our bit” campaign. Ashgate hospice care will be in receipt of over £1,000 after The Van Yard’s first fundraising event, although our team of tough mudders were in receipt of a few aches and pains. The challenge took place at Grantham and is a mix between a cross country run and an army assault course with added thick mud.

Over 280 leading local business people gathered together to recognise the achievements of the local business community.
